Nyahangare (born Harare, 1996) is a painter who bases her practice on elements of photography and printmaking. She starts off with a memory or a photograph, which is then transformed into a monotype, and then finally into a dream-like painting. Nyahangare is part of a new generation of Zimbabwean artists who pushing the boundaries of materials and exploring themes relating to colonialism, the war of liberation, post-colonial problems such as unemployment and poverty, as well as living as a woman in this context.
